George Clooney isn’t just a face we all like to look at (although that too). He is also a social activist, a humanitarian, and undoubtedly the most handsome man on the cell block.
This morning he was arrested at a protest outside the Sudanese Embassy in Washington D.C. (alongside his father - we love father/son bonding) in an effort to raise awareness of growing tensions at the border of Sudan and South Sudan. Clooney has long been vocal in advocating against humanitarian crimes in Sudan, and through co-founding the Satellite Sentinel Project (@sudansentinel), he works to bring attention to these issues. Clooney has witnessed this violence first-hand on his many visits to the region and warns that the situation is very similar to the atrocities in Darfur. When he spoke at a Congressional hearing earlier this week, and later directly with President Obama, he warned of “a real humanitarian disaster” if action is not taken soon.

He remains at large because he is INVISIBLE to the world. FEW know his name, even FEWER know his crimes. WE ARE MAKING HIM FAMOUS! Because when he is, the world will unite against him and demand his arrest.

I feel so inspired. I feel the need to help and make a difference. This has to happen in 2012. We can’t let him go around and keep doing this to children in Central Africa. Let’s make his name known so he can be stopped. HE CAN NO LONGER BE INVISIBLE!
